Overview
Maize, known as the ‘Queen of Cereals,’ is one of India’s most important crops, serving as a key source for food, feed, and industry. With rising domestic demand, government initiatives like the National Food Security Mission (NFSM) and research into high-yield hybrids are driving sectoral growth. The recent policy shift prioritizing maize-based ethanol for biofuel has further increased demand, making India a net importer and impacting industries reliant on maize.
Against this backdrop, FICCI is organizing the 11th Edition of the India Maize Summit on May 15, 2025. Since its inception in 2013, the India Maize Summit has been a premier platform for industry stakeholders, policymakers, researchers, and farmers to engage in meaningful discussions on policy frameworks, market trends, and innovations shaping the maize sector. The 2025 edition will continue this tradition, fostering collaborations to enhance maize productivity, sustainability, and farmer prosperity in India.
