Overview
As India charts its course toward becoming a developed nation by 2047, rural transformation stands at the heart of its inclusive and sustainable growth journey. Nearly 65% of India's population resides in rural areas, yet vast disparities persist in access to opportunities, income, and infrastructure. The untapped potential of Bharat - its villages, women, youth, and indigenous tribal communities - offers immense promise for socio-economic transformation when empowered through the right investments and partnerships.
CSR in India has evolved into a key driver of inclusive rural development. It has supported agro-based livelihoods, women-led enterprises, youth skilling, and digital and climate-smart solutions. As we move toward Viksit Bharat 2047, CSR must go beyond compliance to become a strategic force, scaling proven models, strengthening community institutions, and enabling lasting transformation from the grassroots.
This year's CSR Summit - "CSR-Towards Inclusive and Sustainable Rural Transformation for Viksit Bharat @2047" on 6 June 2025 at FICCI Federation House, Delhi, from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, followed by the presentation ceremony of the 21st Edition of FICCI CSR Awards.
The summit will highlight promising models such as women-led SHGs, EDP, youth skilling hubs, and amplify voices from Northeast India and tribal belts. By anchoring CSR in the lived realities and aspirations of rural communities, we can truly power a Viksit Bharat that is resilient, inclusive, and prosperous by 2047.
In addition to the Summit and Awards Ceremony, a Masterclass on "Leveraging ICT Tools for High-Quality Data Collection, Visualization, and Decision-Making" is being organized on 5th August 2025.
