Aug 20, 2025
FICCI, New Delhi, 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Overview
FICCI is organizing a national conference on "Bharat for Rare: One Vision, Many Voices – Making Rare Care Possible: Availability, Accessibility, Awareness" in collaboration with NITI Aayog, the Indian Medical Parliamentarians’ Forum (IMPF) on 20th August 2025 at FICCI Federation House. The conference aims to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, medical experts, patient advocacy groups, and researchers for a comprehensive dialogue on strengthening India’s rare disease ecosystem. With over 450 rare diseases officially recorded and millions affected nationwide, the conference will spotlight key policy, infrastructure, and research challenges, while showcasing successful models from India and abroad. The deliberations will focus on accelerating access to therapies, expanding Centres of Excellence, leveraging digital tools, and enabling multi-stakeholder collaboration to implement the National Policy for Rare Diseases (NPRD) 2021 effectively. The outcome of this engagement will inform a white paper with actionable recommendations to guide future strategy and policy for rare disease management in India.
