  • Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, graces FICCI’s Special Meeting of Executive Committee Members organized on the sidelines of 8th Bengal Global Business Summit at Kolkata

 

KOLKATA, 05 February 2025: “Bengal is a legacy of resilience, creativity, and boundless ambition,” said Mr Harsha Vardhan Agarwal, President, FICCI, today while the addressing the inaugural session of the ‘8th Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS)’. FICCI is the Chamber partner for BGBS.

 

Mr Agarwal added, “As a representative of FICCI, I take immense pride in a role that supports Bengal’s economic landscape. One of our initiatives is promoting sustainability through circular economy- a vision that aligns seamlessly with Bengal’s development aspirations.”

 

Earlier during the day, FICCI organized its Special Meeting of Executive Committee Members. The meeting was graced by the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Ms Mamata Banerjee. FICCI President also presented a White Paper on ‘Circular Economy for West Bengal:  Unlocking Potential’, jointly developed by FICCI Centre for Sustainability, and TERI. The document lays out a roadmap for integrating circular economy principles into Bengal’s growth strategy.

 

The Special Meeting of Executive Committee Members was attended by Past Presidents, Mr Y K Modi, Exec Chairman, GEECL; Mr Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman, Ambuja Neotia Holdings Pvt Ltd; Dr Jyotsna Suri, CMD, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group; Mr Sidharth Birla, Chairman, Xpro India; Director General, Ms Jyoti Vij, and other leading industry captains.
